It was an treat to be able to photograph Vicky Rowe’s debut collection of wedding dresses in 2014. Vicky designs unique, intricately hand embellished wedding dresses evocative of the 1920’s and 1930’s but with a more contemporary feel for today’s bride. Vicky lives in a 16th Century Farmhouse on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, and I adore the idea of these dresses being designed in such a breathtakingly British landscape. Her creations are truly exquisite, from the elegance of the lines to the precision of the craftsmanship, I am only sad they were not around when I got married.
I was overjoyed when Vicky asked me to be involved in the shoot for her debut collection. She chose the Midland Hotel in Morecambe as the backdrop. Built in the 1930s, it had just the right feel. Michelle Sisson provided the fabulous hair and make up for our two models – Rachael Tennent and Leela Tikadar.
The images we created have been used for her website and lookbook, and you can see their application further down this post. See more of the shoot here.
