Matthew Long is a British classical tenor currently living in London. He has recently been working on a recording of a collection of British music: folk songs, classical English songs and orchestral arrangements of well known anthems. He came to me to create images for his website that would reflect his character within the context of his profession. We spent a lot of time talking about the story he wanted to portray, reflecting the origin and feel of the music he was recording.
Images from our shoot were also used for Matthew’s debut CD ‘Till the Stars Fall’, which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. It is on general release from the 2nd March 2015, but you can preorder it from amazon.co.uk or prestoclassical.co.uk
A little more about the music:
” Till the Stars Fall is the debut solo album of British tenor, Matthew Long. Exquisite songs from the English song repertoire sit alongside the folk songs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in this refreshing portrayal of some of Britain and Ireland’s finest music. The varied accompaniment of guitar, piano and orchestra lead the listener on a journey through well-known classics such as Jerusalem, Danny Boy, She moved through the Fair and Auld Lang Syne, taking in other lesser known songs on the way, including Holst’s The Thought; Vaughan Williams’ Tired from his Four Last Songs; and Finzi’s As I lay in the Early Sun from his collection Oh Fair to See. ”
